The 7th Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), honored the best films released in 1934, and took place on February 27, 1935, at the Biltmore Bowl of the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles, California. During the ceremony, AMPAS presented Academy Awards in 16 categories. Screenwriter Irvin S. Cobb hosted the ceremony for the first time.

Winners and nominees

One Night of Love received the most nominations with 6; Cleopatra, The Gay Divorcee and It Happened One Night came in second with 5 apiece. "It Happened One Night" received 5 awards; "One Night of Love" came in second with 2. Walt Disney was nominated for a 3rd consecutive time and Frank Capra, Robert Riskin, Cedric Gibbons, George J. Folsey, Walter Lantz, Pete Smith, Franklin Hansen, Nathan Levinson, Scott R. Beal, and John Waters were nominated for a 2nd consecutive time.
