The 6th Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), honored the best films released between August 1, 1932 - December 31, 1933, and took place on March 16, 1934, at the Fiesta Room of the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, California. During the ceremony, AMPAS presented Academy Awards in 13 categories. Actor Will Rogers hosted the ceremony for the first time.

Winners and nominees

Cavalcade, A Farewell to Arms and Lady for a Day received the most nominations with 4; I Am a Fugitive from a Chain Gang and Little Women came in second with 3 apiece. "Cavalcade" received 3 awards; "A Farewell to Arms" came in second with 2. Frances Marion, Karl Struss and Walt Disney were nominated for a 2nd consecutive time and this was the last time that the Academy Awards' eligibility period was spread over two different calendar years, creating the longest time frame for which films could be nominated: the year and a half from August 1, 1932, to December 31, 1933.
