The 3rd Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), honored the best films released between August 1, 1929 July 31, 1930, and took place on November 5, 1930, at the Fiesta Room of the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, California. During the ceremony, AMPAS presented Academy Awards in 7 categories. The 4th AMPAS-President and Co-Founder Conrad Nagel hosted the ceremony for the first time.

Winners and nomineesEdit

The Love Parade received the most nominations with 6; All Quiet on the Western Front, The Big House and The Divorcee came in second with 4 apiece. "All Quiet on the Western Front" and "The Big House" received 2 awards and were the only film which won more then 1 award. William Cameron Menzies was nominated for a 3rd consecutive time and Ernst Lubitsch, Ruth Chatterton, Hans Dreier and Arthur Edeson were nominated for a 2nd consecutive time.
